Tools of the Trade and My Middle Name
Well, I am able to finally find some time to post again. The past week or so have been extremely busy for me with a new firewall install at the full time job and getting that tweaked out and some router issues at the part time job that have created havoc.
This post is going to deal with some of the tools that I (you) will need to make this business a success and partially put it on autopilot. Oh, and my middle name.
Let’s start with my middle name…..which is probably a lot of other people’s middle name also…..procrastination. I have been putting off the purchase of a couple of the tools that I want to use.
Why? I can’t really answer that question. Probably because until I finally did plunk down the $$ to purchase the tools, I wasn’t really taking thing seriously. Yea, I was working on the presumption from a previous post–build it and they will visit and buy–it ain’t gonna work that way, no matter who tells you it will!!!!
DON’T BELIEVE ‘EM
Ok…….the tools:
1st. Submityourarticle.com. Personally, I believe this is going to be a time saver. The service will allow you to make 8 article submissions per month. They also submit to various article directories and some ezines. The really nice thing that I like about this service is that upon submitting an article, you are given the option to make some changes to the article, which will give you several unique takes on the one article.
I am a firm believer that writing and submitting articles to various directories is a very inexpensive (read free) way of driving traffic to your site. A great resource for finding several article directories to submit to can be found in this month’s Mentorship Monthly.
2nd Tool. MyDD. My Digital Dispatch. This is the purchase I was procrastinating on…….did I want to spend the $$ on it or not? After about 3 weeks worth of tossing it around, I sprung for it last Friday. I received the download files yesterday afternoon and attempted to install last evening. After struggling with some error messages and emailing back and forth with their tech support, turns out it was an error on my side with the host name for the database.
I found that out after doing some research at my web hosting company’s knowledge base and then applying what I found, and redoing the install.
Now all I have to do is to get all of my codes into mydd and away we go.
Oh, yea, one other thing I did was add a sign up form in the upper right hand corner of this page so that you can sign up to follow my posts. Go ahead, sign up…..I am going to be adding bonuses for those that do sign up (hint, hint).
I am also working on the free giveaway page and opt in form on the main site. I still have to peruse all of my stock to determine what books I am going to offer.
Soooo……not that I can treat this as a full time business now, but it does give me the incentive to really put some work into this venture. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer.
Time…..does anyone have some extra hours they want to sell me??
Til next time.

Hi Ron,
Can you explain what My Digital Dispatch is and what it does?
Thanks,

Peggy,
My duh!!! Here I am thinking that most people would know what I am talking about……well, there’s my first of MANY mistakes I am going to make in this adventure.
My Digital Dispatch is a piece of software that you can install on your webhosting control panel. It is done through mysql.
In a nutshell, what it does is automate the delivery of your digital items. A customer would make a purchase either at your website or on ebay, enter their payment information with paypal and then myDD automates the delivery almost instantaneously.
Compare that with the manual method: a customer makes a purchase in the morning. Unfortunately at that point in time, you are not at your computer to receive the payment email from ebay or paypal. When you get home (possibly several hours later) you log into your email, see that you made a sale (or several) and then you begin to respond and send download links.
Tedious.
And if you get anywhere near as popular as I want to be and are making sales to people in many different parts of the world, everything is taken care of for you. Kinda like you see some squeeze pages……you know the ones….’even if it’s 3:30 in the morning, you can still get instant access to the product’…..well, that’s what myDD is all about.
Hope that explains it a bit better.
