Time Flies…..when you’re having fun
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been 6 days already since the last post. Time flies when you’re having fun, or busy with other projects around the house, or trying to edit html for the site.
Who said this was easy??? I maybe want to talk to him/her about that.
Hmmmmm……haven’t I read somewhere that all you have to do to make money in this crazy business is to throw up a website with a little bit of content and the customers will just find it and whip out their credit cards to buy all of your stuff…..
I don’t really think it works that way. OR, am I missing something?
So, exactly what have I done in the past 6 days to build the business? Well, not as much as I hoped to have done, but I did make some progress:
I submitted two articles to ezinearticles and after having done that, I believe I am going to be signing up for the submit my article service, only because manually submitting articles is tedious and I would like to automate as much as possible.
I did figure out how to get an rss feed installed (I think it’s working) and also did an install of blogrush. You can see that on the sidebar.
Unfortunately, my target live date has come and gone and it is not ‘live’ yet. As I mentioned, I am working on editing the html for the pages which involves changing the code for the graphics that Planet Divinity did for me (great job by the way, and very good to work with), changing, er, adding the paypal code for payment (note to self, get myDD to automate some of that also) and making sure that I DO have all of the books that should be there to correspond with the pages.
Did I mention that this is work? Actually, not really work, it’s time consuming, and detail oriented. I enjoy working on the coding, believe it or not, and making sure that it is working correctly. I could pay someone to do this, but why? It’s a labor of love and when I am rolling in the dough (chuckle, it WILL happen) and things pretty much are automated, it will be much easier to make subtle changes.
Sooooooo……..my goal for tomorrow is to get signed up with submit my article, and get the free download page done on the site.
Basically what I am doing is until the site is up and live, the traffic that is generated by the articles will be able to download at least 1 book for free. The link to the download page will include an offer to download more free books through an optin form (list building, I believe that is called).
Oh, I also have set up a squidoo page and am going to attempt drive some traffic to the site from there also.
Whew……for as little as I thought I did to build the website/business, I actually did a lot!
Hey……don’t go change that channel. I’ll be back shortly.

Hey Ron,
You really are accomplishing quite a lot, even if it’s behind the scenes. I think you’ll agree with me when I say, “I’ve never worked so hard just to get to the starting line!”
Keep up the good work. I’m looking forward to seeing your Squidoo lens.
