Create ‘In Demand’ Ebook Titles with These Five Tips

Since good titles, titles with dramatic impact, are so critical to your ebook’s success, some tips for creating titles that will help sell your ebook will probably help you.

Tip #1:

Create some compelling impact for your title. For examples, you can check out titles on other ebooks by visiting eBay and browsing the ebook section of “Everything Else” or your local bookstore. Notice which ones make you stop browsing down the list…which ones make you wonder some. If you cannot attract your visitors and compel them to buy, you will not make sales.

Tip #2:

Use very positive phrases and words; never negative ones. Those negative, bashing someone or something titles and sales page headlines are negative and might just turn off your potential customers.

Tip #3:

Use your expressions, your way of stating something. Your visitors don’t want to buy an ebook that sounds dry and clinical or one that has a title just like any on the hundreds they see everyday while surfing for information. They want the ebook to be friendly, helpful and full of benefits to either teach them or help them with some problem. Your title will set that tone and stimulate them to buy your product

Tip #4:

Don’t be afraid to create an outrageous or off-the-wall title that would grab the reader’s attention and make them want to keep reading your description of your ebook and its benefits. State your title to make them curious about it and want to know more.

Tip #5:

Some words often found in titles are considered power words. They are very effective in attracting customers. The most alluring word is “Free.” Everyone wants something for free. “How to” is another one that will draw attention and stimulate sales.

One thing to use for a guideline when creating titles is your own response when you read other author’s titles. Which ones did you stop scrolling past to read again? Which ones made you curious or put a question in your mind that you wanted answered? Don’t be afraid to copy success. If a good title stopped you from clicking off the page, make note of it and use it to generate ideas for your own.

A good practice is to put your major benefit in your title, if you can. Buyers want to know why they should buy from you. Almost all purchases are based on emotional reasons. Appeal to those emotions and you will have a winner.
People want to look better or lose weight, know how to fix things or create their own recipes, find a way to make more money, for example. These are all emotional tugs that will get you clicks on your “Buy Now” button.

Follow these tips and your wallet will begin to bulge.

Gold in Them Thar Hills? — There is Definitely Gold in Writing Ebooks

Given the present state of the economy, there are probably a lot of people who are wishing there were gold in them thar hills. What I do know is that there is definitely gold in writing ebooks, but that doesn’t do you a lot of good if you are still stumped for ideas to write about. You’ve brainstormed and made lists that will develop the content and chapter headings for a single ebook, so let’s see how you can create a stash of future topics.

What you need to do here is create a list of 5 or 10 interests you have. Those interests could be crafts you love doing, gardening projects you’ve completed, your grandmother’s recipes, Internet Marketing or “How-To” manuals on almost any subject. The list is actually endless.

Rank that list in order of degree of passion you have about each subject. That’s all you want on this list…personal interests that you are passionate about in varying degrees.

Pick the top 2 or 3 interests and start researching. Place each of the 2 or 3 topics at the top of a separate page and, as you research, jot down the interesting or useful websites (URL) you find and download free, PLR articles on the subjects you’ve chosen. Create folders for each of your topics and save the information you find or download in the appropriate folder. You are building a library of resources for future ebooks you want to write.

You can find out the amount of interest each one of your topics has by using any of the free keyword search tools. Google the phrase “keyword search tools” and take your pick. Doing a Google search on the various topics you have listed on your page will let you know how much competition you have. The number of hits Google finds for your subjects is your competition.

What you are looking for is a high number on the keyword search and a low number for the Google stats after searching for your subject. A keyword search with high numbers tells you there’s a lot of interest in your subject. Low Google numbers for websites about your topics indicates that there is low competition and room for your ebook to excel.

One of the most popular subjects on the Internet is various versions of “How To Make Money Online.” If that’s your interest, here’s a few suggestions for your consideration: Internet Marketing, Selling on eBay, Using Google Adsense and Adwords and How To Use Search Engine Tactics (SEO).

Other hot topics include health, gardening, losing weight, improving your appearance, activities for kids, crafts, collecting, pets, real estate, travel, the stock market, how to look younger, improving your love life.

People all over the world are looking for information on almost any subject that has anything to do with their personal life, like clearing up acne, losing their “love handles,” attracting mates or fixing their broken widget.

Fill that need with a well-written ebook full of content they can use to solve their problems and you will have a winner.
